SRI first came across this tiny little primary school in 2014 after a teacher at nearby Uda Mattala School recommend that we donate a computer to it.

The school is very close to Sri Lanka's second international airport, although at the moment there are probably more elephants in the vicinity than airplanes.

In fact, wild elephants often wander into the school grounds, coming close to the classrooms.

The new principal is trying hard to improve standards and is giving the students many extra activities after school.

As a result of this, the school achieved its first grade five pass last year since it was turned into a primary school in 1996.

The principal hopes to achieve two grade five passes rates this coming year.
